Going back to my roots! Time to simplify life
I am incredibly proud of launching Good Florist Guide (GFG) and National Florist Day (NFD).
One represents the very best of the industry, the other brought everyone together in a way that has never been seen before.
However, both have been time consuming and expensive and to be honest I am at a stage of life where I want to have fun, spend my money on shoes not office supplies and, most importantly, be with my family and friends rather than drowning in admin and becoming a crabby old bag!
I also seriously miss writing … BIG time!
At heart I am a wordsmith and communicator, and there are all sorts of amazing stories, ideas and thoughts I want to share and speak about plus I have been asked to help on new projects that use my skills in a different way.
So, given even I occasionally need to sleep, something has to give!
Which is why I have mothballed NFD, am gifting GFG to some wonderful people (you can read the story here) and am going back to my roots to focus on Florist Magazine; the space where I started, which still has the biggest and most engaged UK following and which will allow me the time to connect and communicate with everyone.
It’s a tough call as I still reckon I am Superwoman and can do everything.
But it’s time to do other brilliant things. Life is short, there are still a zillion and one other things on my bucket list, and I want the freedom to do them. As they say watch this space!
