Alan says Goodbye

Our Editor, Caroline Marshall-Foster, gets many requests to publish news … this is a message she is honoured to share in order to allow for a special person’s final wish.

Because while Alan Peck never planned to be a florist … he had his own highly successful career in IT … not only did he and his late wife Liz run two very different but equally successful shops, but he used that experience to write two bestselling books that helped thousands of florists starting their careers as business owners.

We’ll leave the rest of the story for Alan to say in his own final words but if you read his books feel free to say something on our Facebook post  ... he would love to hear from you.

Hi Caroline. As the best-connected person in the UK floristry world, I wonder if you could please spread the following message from me to all your florists.

I was taken ill just before Christmas and diagnosed with inoperable cancer of the stomach and oesophagus. I am now under the care of the local hospice and on an end-of-life plan.

I just want to say thank you and farewell to the many florists who have bought my business books on the world of floristry … over ten thousand of them!

The first one was Buying and Running a Florist shop and then more recently The Business Side of UK Floristry, which still sells on Amazon today.

I hope these have helped people to grow their business and to make more money from their wonderful floristry work.

Thank you and a final farewell.

Alan
