Zentoo, Kwekerij Wouters & Buijnink win DFG awards

It may have happened back in November but that’s no reason not to still celebrate the winners of the Dutch Flower Awards because the success lasts a whole year!! Announced by CEO Jan van Dam, the awards celebrate the partnership between DFG, their growers and suppliers and worked to the central theme of 'Customer Driven'.

The awards covered three categories, Cut Flowers, Plants and Foreign Supplier.  Taking the top prize in the Cut flower category was leading Chrysanthemum grower Zentoo.

For the Plants category it was Kwekerij Wouters who took the honours whilst the DFG Award for Foreign Supplier went to the totally organic foliage grower Buijnink Internacional, based in Portugal.

An extra award was made to Axians who has been working with the Dutch Flower Group companies for many years, specifically on the ERP systems for the retail focused companies.

Challenging but viable times ahead.

Whilst DFG are expecting 2022 to show similar turnover to 2021, in his closing speech Jan van Dam explained that 'Customer Driven’ wasn’t just the theme for the Awards but the key for sustainable business models in the years to come.

Acknowledging the major challenges throughout the supply chain due to the rising costs of energy, materials, and logistics, as well as the availability of flowers and plants, Jan said: “Strong and valuable partnerships are important in these challenging times to create viable opportunities for the future.”
