C4 Billionaire Blooms shows florist grit

The end of April saw Channel 4 re-start their behind the scenes look at the ultra-luxury world of floristry in a new four-part series of Billionaire Blooms, a spin off from their successful Christmas one-off.

Produced by Glasgow-based Raise the Roof Productions, the beautifully filmed and elegantly voiced by Simon Callow, production contained not only some awesome work but brilliant spot-on observations about the real grit needed to be a professional florist as the cameras followed internationally renowned florists as they deliver awe inspiring displays for exclusive venues and the most discerning private clients.

In fact the whole series is an insight into the unsung world of amazing design, meticulous planning and engineering of stunning floral installations on an epic scale, including the internationally renowned Jamie Aston as he plans and builds installations for his biggest gig of the year: a five-day wedding in Venice.

Billionaire Blooms also features floral designer Paula Rooney, one of the world’s most in-demand floral designers who, with a starting price of £25,000 for parties and events, really knows how to put on a show.

And joining Billionaire Blooms for the first time is florist Kelly Louise, who is based primarily in the North of England and has carved out an amazing career as the florist to the Cheshire set, as well as Wild Flowers of Edinburgh and Afia Bayayi who loves to work on colourful weddings in and around London.

However, the roll call also sees some other fabulous florists at work including Ricky Paul and Philip Corps not to mention guest appearances by the some of the florists who took part in the 2022 Edinburgh Fleurs de Villes displays.

Jo Street, Head of Daytime and Features for Channel 4, said: “I’m delighted to be bringing Billionaire Blooms back for a full series, it’s a wonderful, joyful watch and I can’t wait to see more of the incredible florists at work.”

Andrew Jackson, Executive Producer for Raise the Roof Productions, said: “Billionaire made my Christmas last year, mainly because we only delivered it with hours to spare but I am so thrilled that Jo has commissioned us to make a full series. It’s been a joy to cast and a joy to make and I can’t wait to share our new crop of florists with the Channel 4 viewers.”

Billionaire Blooms is available on catchup at All4.
